Kristian Marcial, PT
Kristian (Director of Physical Therapy) believes that “the best investment is your own health!” He is a licensed physical therapist who combines traditional and non-traditional techniques, with a holistic approach, versus a compartmentalized approach. He uses his experience, passion, creativity and expertise to make individualized plans of care for his patients. After working under great mentors with different views on healing, Kristian learned a lot of helpful pointers and developed his unique style of treatment that is simple, fun and effective.
His professionalism was built through 10 years of experience in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. Kristian honed and reinforced his skills in evaluating and treating patients after working for over 6 years in different outpatient clinics located in Midtown, Manhattan. He completed the Intensive Stott Pilates training courses for Mat, Reformer and Cadillac, which are great for core strengthening and postural awareness. He also recently obtained his Foundation Training Certification, which is a very powerful tool to address back pain and weakness (more information can be found at www.foundationtraining.com). Furthermore, he is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Kristian is a candidate for a transitional doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at Dominican College in Orangeburg, New York. In 2005, he received his professional degree in Physical Therapy from De La Salle University’s Health Science Institute in the Philippines. Since becoming a physical therapist, Kristian has focused his practice mainly on outpatient orthopedic and pain management settings. Recently, he brought two of his finest colleagues Monica and Nathan to join his team at Hudson Wellness Center, where he serves as the Director of Physical Therapy.
Once a competitive collegiate basketball, volleyball and table tennis athlete, Kristian enjoys participating in and watching different sports teams, especially the New York Knicks. He is also passionate about the Latin culture and loves dancing Salsa, Bachata, and the Argentine Tango. Kristian is even a volunteer at New York Cares since 2010, where they teach Bronx orphans different kinds of dancing and then treat them to pizza after lessons. Kristian’s co-workers consider him as “the guy who is always happy.”
