Monica is a licensed Physical Therapist who acquired her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Dominican College of Blauvelt. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy, with a concentration in Pediatrics, from the University of Craiova in Romania.
Monica is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Specialist incorporating evidence-based kinesio taping research in the treatment of orthopedic and sports injuries. As a former competitive volleyball player, Monica enjoys treating professional athletes as well as elderly adults. She uses her training in Balanced Body Pilates, Mat, Reformer and Barre Method in creating customized exercise programs along with manual therapy techniques such as Maitland, Mulligan and Myofascial Trigger Point Release to restore optimal function and recovery. Her main focus is the treatment of postoperative conditions, injury prevention, as well as biomechanics and ergonomics. She is currently gaining a greater interest in Women’s Health-Prenatal/Postnatal treatments attending continuing education training and seminars.
In her free time, Monica enjoys staying active by playing tennis, hiking and skiing as well as practicing Pilates, which she considers the best form of exercise for postural awareness and core strengthening.
